It has been a little over a month since my last update. I started at a new gym and ended up eating meat for the first time in 5 months. Read below for my update and thank you for reading.
This month has been a struggle with food. The food still seems to cause trouble for me. I have a good couple weeks of clean eating then a weekend of binge eating and then back to clean eating. I recently ate meat for the first time in five months. I had been thinking about eating meat for a while. I was getting sick of eating plant based foods. My meal ideas started to get boring. I ended up eating a cheeseburger with my dad. It tasted amazing! I didn’t think I would miss meat that much. My body didn’t really react the way I thought either. I felt fine and didn’t have any stomach issues. That weekend I ended up eating a lot of meat and processed foods that I hadn’t had for five months. It was basically a crazy meat binge. I ended up eating the same way I used to. A lot of fast food, processed foods, and meat. That lasted a week. I ended up gaining 5 pounds back that week. That does not seem like that much, but it was for me. After eating a ton of meat that week I started eating plant-based again. I am still trying to figure out what kind of food I will be eating on this journey. Plants-based eating makes my body feel great but at times I feel weak and it is not that satisfying. I don’t know if I could eat like it forever. I miss incorporating meat into my meal plans. It is so easy to meal plan with meat. Just pick a meat protein, veggies and a carb. I also miss the taste of meat. Right now I am eating plant-based, but I might add clean meats to my diet in the future. Not red meat. Mainly chicken, fish and ground turkey. And in moderation. I will keep you updated. I plant to write a post about my experience of plant-based eating and then eating meat for the first time. The last couple weeks that I have stuck to eating plant-based and have lost the 5 pounds I gained earlier.
CrossFit and Exercise
My last full month of CrossFit was June. I still had a couple weeks left on my membership to last me until the middle of July (I was lazy the last couple weeks of my CrossFit membership and did not go much). I finished out CrossFit in mid-July and needed to find a local gym to join. I wanted a gym that had cardio classes, spin, a pool, and was open late. I did my research and ended up joining California Family Fitness. I felt like CalFit would be more aligned with my weight loss goals. They had all the things I was looking for and had a great deal going on. The main concern I had about joining a normal gym was the intimidation factor. I had no idea what to do at a gym. A normal gym scared me. I decided if I wanted to be successful on my own in a normal gym, I would need some extra help. I ended up signing up for 6 personal training sessions once a week. Each session ended up to be around $55. I wanted to feel comfortable and have a professional help me. The personal training was awesome and helped me feel more at ease. My trainer kicked my butt. I just finished up my last session this week. I am happy I did it. If only I could afford to keep going multiple times a week. A girl can dream. I usually workout four times a week. I usually do 2 leg days, 1 arm day and 1 back/arm day. I also try to do spin/cardio kick boxing once or twice a week. I really enjoy the group classes. They make you move and sweat. I also have some CrossFit workouts saved on my phone. I can always do them at Calfit if I end up missing CrossFit style movements. I learned a lot from CrossFit and try to incorporate some movements into my workouts. So far, I am really enjoying the normal gym life. It is nice to go whenever you want and pick any class you feel like going to. I am happy with my decision.
· January 1st weight: 200 pounds. Current weight as of 8/7/2018: 180
I am not even close to where I should be. I lost a couple pounds this update but it has been over a month since my last update. I should be down way more. I think that was the main reason why I have not been hurried to make this post. I am disappointed by the last month or two. The food remains to be a huge struggle for me. The meat binge put me behind a bit. I am trying not to get down on myself and remember this is part of the journey. This is hard process.

This will be the last CrossFit style workout I will have. I plan to show you my weekly gym routine in the next couple of updates.
· Kayla Lashae- She has awesome “What I eat in a day” plant-based videos on her channel. Those really help me with meal ideas and to stay on track with eating. She has other beauty videos that I never watch. I mainly watch her food related videos.
